Black Screen / No Picture

TV powers on but screen remains black with no image

Fix Steps:
1
Check if you can hear sound - this indicates the backlight may be faulty
2
Press the Menu button - if menu appears, the issue is with the input source
3
Verify the correct input source is selected (HDMI1, HDMI2, etc.)
4
Disconnect all external devices and test with built-in apps
5
Check HDMI cable connections are secure at both ends
6
Try a different HDMI cable or HDMI port
7
Adjust brightness and backlight settings in Picture menu
8
Perform a picture test: Menu > Support > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test
Preventive Tip

Avoid exposing TV to direct sunlight. Turn down brightness when not needed to extend backlight life.

Related FAQs

This usually indicates a backlight failure. The TV is working, but the backlight that illuminates the screen has failed. This requires professional repair. Try shining a flashlight on the screen - if you can faintly see an image, it confirms backlight failure.

The picture test displays a test pattern to verify if your TV screen is working properly. Access it by pressing Menu > Support > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test. If the test pattern shows correctly, the issue is with your input source, not the TV.

Check the back or side of your TV - HDMI ports are labeled (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.). Match this with the input source you select on your TV. Many modern TVs also show a preview of what's connected to each port.
